Hike in Petrol and diesel ; Consumers brace for fuel at rupees 100 in Patna, Thiruvananthapuram.

Last month, Bhopal became the first state capital to surpass the $100 mark in gasoline costs. Then came Jaipur, and finally Mumbai. Last week, petrol retailed for more than a hundred rupees in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. More state capitals raised fuel prices on Thursday, bringing them closer to the psychological mark of $100. After remaining unchanged for a day, the nationwide price of petrol increased by 26 paisa.

The cost of petrol in Delhi has increased for the thirteenth time this month, to 97.76 a litre, while diesel is currently selling for 88.30 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol costs 103.89 rupees per litre, while diesel costs 95.79 rupees per litre.

In addition, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, are on the verge of joining the list of state capitals where motor fuel has become scarce.
