According to a recent Intel support document, Windows 11 public preview has been released for about a month, and it may be coming to our devices in the production (stable) channel in October 2021. A bigger deployment is expected in 2022, although when that will happen is yet unknown. However, the first quarter of the year is most plausible.
The release of Windows 11 was formally announced on June 24; however it has yet to be released. Windows 11 is expected to be released in October 2021, according to a growing number of hints. That is, at least, the current strategy. Windows 11 will most likely arrive in October, probably in the third or fourth week of the month, according to teasers issued by Microsoft, a product listing by Walmart, and fresh release notes given by Intel.
Intel plainly refers to Windows 11 as “October 2021 Update – version 21H2” in the release notes of DCH GPU driver 18.104.22.16884. As you may know, Windows builds are labelled “YYMM,” where YY stands for the year in two-digit format and MM stands for the projected release month.
Microsoft’s programme manager Brandon LeBlanc confirmed the continuation of Windows 11 on Twitter.
Microsoft also plans to release Windows 10 version 21H2 with quality improvements in October 2021.
Windows 10 version 21H2 is based on the “Vibranium” version of Windows, which is also used in Windows 10 version 21H1 (May 2021 Update) and October 2020 Update (20H2). On the other hand, Windows 11 version 21H2 is based on a Windows version codenamed “Cobalt” internally. Unlike Windows 10, Windows 11 will only receive a single feature update every year, and Microsoft has previously stated that new feature updates will be delivered in the second half of each year, meaning no new major updates will be released in the first half (April or May).
The next major update for Windows 11 is called “version 22H2,” and it’ll arrive in the second part of the year. Microsoft will most likely complete Windows 11 feature upgrades in August or September ahead of the anticipated release in October or November in the coming years, with Insiders seeing them first.
