Uttarakhand will award Rs. 50,000 to individuals who pass the UPSC and state PSC preliminary exams

Those who pass the preliminary examinations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Combined Defense Services (CDS), and National Defense Academy will receive a monetary award of 50,000 rupees from the Uttarakhand government.

The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday in Dehradun, where 11 proposals were deliberated. “The financial aid to those passing the preliminary examination will help them in preparing for the mains examination,” Cabinet minister and government spokesperson Subodh Uniyal later told the reporters.“We made the decision after noticing that only a few Uttarakhandis are able to pass the UPSC mains after passing the preliminary exam. Uniyal stated, “This assistance will enable them in better preparedness.”

He went on to say that whereas 50,000 was previously provided to individuals who passed the CDS and NDA exams, the money will now be given “after passing the written examination for better preparation for the interview.”Uniyal also discussed the decision to open schools for grades 6 through 12 on August 1st. “The school education department will issue a SOP on the subject,” he said. Among other significant choices, the minister stated that the government has established a four-member committee headed by retired IAS officer Indu Pandey to address the issue of “pay discrepancy in various departments.”

“The committee has been given three months to finish and submit their report,” Uniyal said, adding that a meeting of the sub-committee on police personnel grade pay will be conducted on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been chosen as a consultant for the proposed new greenfield airport in Pant Nagar. Uniyal explained, “AAI has been selected as a consultant in the project with the condition that it delivers a thorough project report on the airport within six months.”
