Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation i.e. IRCTC has released the results for the June quarter of the financial year 2021-22. During April to June, IRCTC turned profit from loss. The company reported a profit of Rs 82.5 crore in the June quarter, as against a loss of Rs 24.6 crore in the same quarter last year.The company’s income has increased by 84.8%. Income has increased to Rs 244 crore from Rs 132 crore in the June quarter of the financial year 2020-21.
According to the exchange filing, the IRCTC board has approved the share split. One share of IRCTC will be divided into 5 shares. If a share with a face value of Rs 10 is divided into 5, then its face value will be Rs 2. This proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Railways.
Internet ticket booking revenue increased by 300%
The revenue from the catering segment declined by 37%. The revenue from the catering segment declined from Rs 89 crore to Rs 56 crore on a year-on-year basis. At the same time, the revenue from internet ticket booking has increased by 300% to Rs 149 crore. Shares of IRCTC closed at 2689.85 with a gain of 4.60% on BSE on Thursday.
