Prices increased after one and a half year
The company said that milk prices have increased after about one and a half years. The reason behind increasing the prices has been said to benefit the farmers. Also, due to increase in packaging cost, logistics and commodity prices, it was necessary to increase milk prices. The company sells butter, cheese and ice cream under the Amul franchise.
Price will be applicable across the country
The company said in a statement that the price hike will be applicable across the country. Wherever Amul’s fresh milk is available, its customers will have to pay this price. An increase of Rs 2 per liter in milk prices means an increase of 4%. However, this increase is less compared to the inflation of food articles. The company said that due to an increase in input cost, our members have increased the price of milk supplied by the farmers. Now its range has gone up to Rs 45 to 50 per litre.
