For its latest offering, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, OnePlus is gearing up for one of its largest launches in a long time. The first OnePlus Nord smartphone was released in 2020, and the business is now preparing to release an improved version. While the phone may resemble the OnePlus 9, the firm claims it is distinct in its own right.
The debut event, which will be virtual, will be aired live on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqVwL8z68TY) and can be viewed by anybody. The event will take place on July 22 at 7:30 p.m. IST.
The firm has teased some of the specifications of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone ahead of its introduction, and we have a look at them here:
To begin, there is the price, which is always at the forefront of most people’s minds. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be the company’s cheapest 5G-capable smartphone, and that’s all there is to it. According to the firm, the smartphone will transform the user experience across several touchpoints, and it has partnered with MediaTek to do so. The result is the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI, an upgraded version of the previously launched MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset that places a strong emphasis on AI and AI-based capabilities. At 6.43 inches, the display is rather huge. HDR10+ certification has been granted to the Full HD+ display. It gives consumers a better viewing experience even when watching 1080p and 4k videos, and it does it without putting too much strain on their eyes. In addition, the smartphone’s 90Hz refresh rate offers a smoother social media scrolling experience.
The smartphone features a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with Optical Image Stabilization for photographers (OIS). This should result in clearer daylight photos and better low-light performance. The Nord 2 is powered by OxygenOS 11.3, a modified operating system based on Android 11. Two major Android updates are scheduled, as well as three years of security patches, to ensure that it remains current even after years of use. In terms of RAM and storage, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes standard with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
In addition, as previously stated, the OnePlus Nord 2 is a 5G smartphone. Although this feature is not yet available in India, the manufacturer claims that whenever 5G is implemented, the phone would provide consumers with speedier performance.
