WhatsApp’s payment tool has been updated with additional features. Users in India will now be able to add a payment background to their WhatsApp messages when sending money to their pals. This function is only available to Indian users. The Facebook-owned messaging service claims that the function will allow users to express feelings as well as send money.
The payments background feature in WhatsApp looks a lot like the payments background feature in Google Pay. When sending money with Gpay, you can choose from a variety of backgrounds from the company’s options. On WhatsApp, you’ll be able to do the same thing. Notably, the messaging app’s payments component was initially introduced in India in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Transactions with over 227 banks are possible using the real-time payment system.
“WhatsApp is a secure area where individuals share their ideas and sentiments with their friends and family,” Manesh Mahatme, Director of WhatsApp Payments, said of the feature. Our goal with Payments Backgrounds is to add excitement to everyday payments on WhatsApp by allowing users to express themselves through a variety of expressive themes that represent festivities, affection, warmth, and fun. Sending and receiving money, we feel, is much more than a transaction. The stories behind the exchanges are frequently priceless. We’re excited to provide new features and functionality, and to keep making payments on WhatsApp a pleasant and engaging experience.
For example, if you’re sending money to your sister on Rakshabandhan, you can send it with a Rakshabandhan pavements background. Similarly, you can choose among payment backgrounds with cakes and candles for birthdays. WhatsApp has unveiled a new feature that aids in bringing the storey behind each payment to life. This would also assist the receiver and sender in recalling payments that they may have forgotten otherwise.
