Microsoft is experimenting with a night mode for Xbox in order to make late-night gaming more enjoyable

Microsoft, based in Redmond, Washington, is developing a new night mode for Xbox systems. The new night mode, which allows users to decrease their screens, controller LED brightness, and even the Xbox power button, has already begun testing with Xbox Insiders. According to a story in The Verge, the night mode provides a variety of customization options, including variable dimming levels and an optional blue light filter. Xbox users will be able to decrease the LED brightness on their controllers in the night mode, as well as dim or turn off the Xbox power button light. When night mode is enabled, users can also set an Xbox to convert to system dark mode and disable HDR.

According to The Verge, Xboz’s night mode has a lot of customization options and can be set to a schedule, either manually or automatically, to activate at sunset and disable at sunrise. Microsoft is presently testing this with Xbox Insiders, so it will likely pass through various testing channels in the coming weeks before being made available to all Xbox users. Tom Warren of The Verge even made a video on his personal YouTube channel demonstrating the night mode on an Xbox. Display dimming, HDR settings, theme, controller LED brightness, and power button brightness are among the customization options seen in the movie. It’s unclear whether Microsoft intends to improve this.

The testing is currently only available to Xbox Insiders and will take some time to reach all users. The feature, on the other hand, will be welcomed by gamers everywhere, as Night Mode will be more consistent with late-night gaming sessions, regardless of whatever screen a user is using.
