Snap today announced the release of its first local and original Indian Creator Shows, created by Qyuki and starring leading television actress Anushka Sen and rib-tickling comedian Vir Das, which will premiere on June 17th, 2021. The episodes are built around distinctive concepts and familiar characters, and they’re designed for Snapchat’s mobile-first audience, so they’re sure to appeal to the Indian Snapchat community.
These series, which will premiere exclusively on Snapchat Discover in October 2020, were previously revealed alongside a slate of other exclusive and Snap Original content in October 2020.
Snapchatters can follow Anushka in the kitchen as she prepares some of her favourite dishes while completing a series of cooking tasks set by her Snapchat Lens, “What’s On My Plate.”
The weekly series will start on June 19, with new episodes released every Saturday. It will include special appearances from Anushka’s family and friends who will sample and review her culinary masterpieces.
He will take on seemingly difficult and new tasks in “Vir Das – The Most Epic Max Show,” stretching his boundaries and trying new things. Each challenge is either a ‘Epic’ or a total ‘Fail,’ but Vir makes it a delightful learning experience in either case. The weekly series will start on June 24, with new episodes released every Thursday. Each episode will give fans a glimpse of the real Vir as well as a glimpse into his past.
Snapchat’s Creator Shows are first-person, personality-driven shows that are only available on Snapchat’s Discover platform. Episodes are three to five minutes long, full-screen vertical, and mobile-paced, much like all Snapchat Shows. Each series is true to the creator’s enthusiasm, and it’s available to over 70 million Indians who have watched Snap.
“Snapchat shows are made to both inform and entertain, reflecting and celebrating the many views, experiences, and passions of the global Snapchat community. Snap’s one-of-a-kind original programming is customised for Indian audiences. We’re ecstatic to debut these two new Creator series, each of which offers a glimpse inside the lives of some of India’s most well-known creators, Van stated.
“I took up cooking as a pastime during lockdown and discovered that I was actually rather excellent at it!” The response to my recipes and meals with my fans was so fantastic that I thought a culinary show would be a lot of fun,” Anushka Sen said. “Every week, I’ll set a goal for myself to create foods that we’re all familiar with, but with a twist. My show is unlike anything I’ve ever done before.
“While the past year has been tremendously difficult, with long periods of time spent at home due to the virus, the one thing the pandemic has given me is time. “It’s time to refresh, reconsider, and revisit some of the things I’d only dreamed of but never had the opportunity to do,” Vir Das said.
