After multiple rumours, Samsung has confirmed that the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be released on August 11. Although Samsung has only recently announced that an unpacked event will be broadcast, rumours suggest that the Z Fold 3 will be there. A comprehensive specs sheet, as well as official brochure photos, has now leaked online, ahead of the debut.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be the successor to the Z Fold 2, which was released last year. It will have a 7.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate and a resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels. This primary display, interestingly, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, making it sturdy and durable.
It will have a 6.28-inch cover display with a high 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2268 x 832 pixels. For the first time in a Z Fold phone, S Pen functionality will be included, which means the phone will come with a S Pen.
In terms of camera technology, the foldable smartphone would include a triple camera system on the back. It will consist of a vertically positioned camera module with a 12MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto sensor. There will be a 4MP camera on the inside and a 10MP camera on the cover screen when folded for selfies. The camera will support Night mode, Night Hyperlapse mode, Director’s View mode, and Portrait mode, according to the brochure. The smartphone is said to be capable of shooting videos with a resolution of up to 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels).
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The photos reveal Dolby Atmos support as well as IPX8 water resistance. It will come with a 4,400mAh battery and support for both wired and wireless fast charging.
According to the brochure photographs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be available in three colour options: Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver. It was recently made available for pre-order in India. In the global market, the phone is projected to cost EUR 1899 ($2,233).
