The CBSE has released the term-by-term syllabus for the 2021-22 Board Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued the new syllabus for the 2021-22 board exams, which will take place over two terms. The board had declared a revised format of Class 10 and Class 12 board exams earlier this month as a precautionary move to avoid cancelling them, as it had done this year, because to the COVID-19 situation. “This is done to maximise the chances of having a Class administered by a board.”

The board has implemented modifications such as a streamlined syllabus for Classes 9 to 12, alternative academic calendars, and NCERT advice on curriculum implementation. The board also hopes to make internal evaluation, practical, and project work more credible and valid for the academic year 2021-22 in order to ensure a fair distribution of marks, according to an official release.

The board has also developed a specific plan for internal assessments, project-based work, and practicals in addition to the term-by-term syllabus. The board stated, “Internal evaluation will be carried out as per the existing scheme throughout the year, except that their assessment will be done twice and each will contribute equally to the overall assessment”.

“Schools should ensure that all students’ internal assessments are credible, fair, and transparent. Internal assessment/practical/project work evaluations by teachers must be based on evidence of students’ performance during the academic session. Schools must present/upload evidence of internal assessment/practical/project work in accordance with ESSA’s instructions.
