New Delhi, India: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated today that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 will be held on October 3. The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur), which administers the engineering entrance exam, has already released the information brochure for the exam on June 26. For more information on the registration process, candidates should visit the official website — jeeadv.ac.in.
JEE Advanced is an entrance exam for undergraduate engineering, science, and architecture programmes at India’s 23 technical institutes (IITs). An applicant must be among the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main candidates to be regarded qualified for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced was originally slated on July 3, 2021, but was postponed due to Covid.
Several adjustments to the format of JEE Advanced 2021 have been made in light of the difficulties students have faced over the previous year and a half as a result of the Covid epidemic and the accompanying problems of online sessions. Candidates who qualified for JEE Advanced 2020 but did not appear owing to Covid or other reasons will be able to sit for JEE Advanced 2021 without having to retake the exam.
“Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic-related circumstances in India, the date of JEE (Advanced) 2021 had previously been postponed,” IIT Kharagpur remarked when issuing the JEE information pamphlet. In due course, a new date will be announced.”
