New Delhi, July 25: Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO will launch its official online store for the Indian market to strengthen its presence in the country and is looking at cornering 15 per cent of overall sales from e-commerce, a top company official has said.
Besides, the company, which is presently operating six stores in Delhi NCR, is also looking to expand its network of offline stores and exploring some other cities here as well, UNIQLO India Chief Executive Officer Tomohiko Sei said.
Commenting on the launch, said Tohomiko Sei, CEO at Uniqlo India in a statement said: “After a large number of requests from across the country about our products, we are happy to announce that now consumers can shop Uniqlo products from the comfort of their homes. With this service, we hope to provide more customers with iconic Uniqlo items through our website to support their lives in this new normal. We will be delivering to people in more than 17,000 pin codes across the country.”
Uniqlo had entered the Indian market with its first store in the country at the Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj in New Delhi last October. The brand recently opened its fourth store in the country and plans to open one more store in DLF Mall of India later in the year. Uniqlo is a subsidiary of Japan-based apparel retailer, Fast Retailing, and has its presence in 25 markets across the world.
