NEW DELHI: Recently, it was reported that Mahindra & Mahindra, the popular homegrown UV maker, is planning to introduce a new logo. The new insignia will be rolled out in line with the company’s plans to revamp its corporate identity. This is being done to align the company’s visual identity with the fast-evolving market dynamics. Now, in a fresh development, the logo has leaked online and as expected, it’s made up of the brand’s initial ‘M’ inside a box. In months to come, this logo will be found on the carmaker’s UVs, which, in the words of the company, aim to offer “true-blue, no-nonsense SUVs that are true to the character”.
The new generation Mahindra XUV700 is most likely to make global debut on August 15, 2021. Launch could take place on October 2, (Gandhi Jayanti) 2021. This is the same strategy Mahindra followed during the introduction of the Second generation Thar lifestyle SUV.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and the MG Hector. It is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 22 lakh. The SUV will be designed on the all-new monocoque platform with a provision of 4WD system. It will be the most powerful SUV in its category. The new XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.2L turbo petrol with power close to 200bhp and a 2.2L turbo diesel with expected power output of 185bhp. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The company has also introduced the Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) feature. These features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, autonomous braking and lane keep assist. Meanwhile, Mahindra XUV700 is going to be the first-ever vehicle in its segment to launch Level 1 ADAD.
