Chanu ended India’s 21-year drought of medals in weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics and also opened the country’s account by winning a silver medal. She won the silver medal in the clean and jerk in the women’s 49 kg category. As soon as Chanu won the medal, he got an influx of congratulations. Meanwhile, pizza company Domino’s India has announced lifetime free pizza to Olympic silver Medalist Mirabai Chanu. Pizza company Domino’s India gave this information on its Twitter account.
Mirabai recently said in an interview that she wants to eat pizza because she hasn’t eaten pizza for a very long time. Keeping this point of star weightlifter in mind, Domino’s India announced to give free pizza to Chanu throughout his life. The company wrote on the official Twitter, ‘They said and we have heard it. We never want Mirabai Chanu to make her wait for pizza. That’s why we are giving her FREE Domino’s Pizza for life.’
Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu lifted 117 kg in her final attempt and had to settle for silver. He lifted the weight of 115 kg in the second attempt. However, in the first attempt, she could lift only 110 kg. Earlier, Karnam Malleswari had won the country a bronze medal in weightlifting at the Sydney Olympics 2000.
