KTM’s’ scalpel’ bloodline appears to be thickening, with claims in the international press claiming that the Austrian bikemaker is working on a larger ‘990 Duke.’ Recently, the motorcycle was also seen being tested in Europe. Although it is said to be a completely new vehicle from the ground up, the outward aspect appears to be familiar.
The LED headlight and a few body panels appear to have been brought over from the KTM 890 Duke, but the tank extensions appear to be new. There’s no price for guessing that the motorcycle’s engine will be larger in displacement than the current 890 Duke. It will also be home to a new exhaust system and radiator. With the current Euro5 emission standards in place, the powerhouse may also receive water jackets to reduce noise. A redesigned swingarm, as well as an update to the engine, could be among the model’s other major modifications.
